Bio

Lightem was born in 1985 at Mitilini (Lesvos Island, Greece). From young age he was a fan of electronic music. For that reason he began dj’ing at local radio stations (Kiss FM 101.7 Mitilini, Radiofono108) and many parties. After some years he began the production of his own music. Mostly Hip Hop (Kinima tis Leras) and down tempo. In 2001 he started listening Drum & Bass and one year later he started the productions. All of this years he is discovering new things about sound and music and for that reason he is still on it.

 In 2005 he moved to Athens to study sound engineering and music production. In 2007 he took his degree and in 2008 he took bachelor on sound design, 5.1 surround mix, film scoring and post production at Preston University of Alabama. In 2008 till now he is in the development team of Jazler Software (one of the most popular radio automation software around the world).

These days he is composing tracks with his mate Nino Santos, under the project ''Nino Santos & Lightem''. Having previously been friends for a long time and after seeing that they share the same dreams and goals the duo decided to join forces at the start of 2010. Even though at a relatively young age their remarkable and continuous presence (as djs, producers, event promoters, radio hosts) in the electronic music industry, is a fact.

Highlights of this presence are appearances at world renowned venues such as Amnesia Ibiza, radio hosting at one of the most important internet electronic radios, Frisky Radio, presenting the likes of Yousef, Nic Fanciulli and Paolo Mojo amongst others and last but not least a bachelor on sound design, 5.1 surround mix, film scoring and post production at Preston University of Alabama.

 Their first releases on respected labels like Quanticman and Trend Records have already hit the charts of Beatport and Juno are getting support by the best djs around the world such as Richie Hawtin, Dj Sneak, Nic Fanciulli, Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez, Alex Niggemann, Paco Osuna, Carlo Lio, Audiojack, UGLH, Bastian Schuster, Hermanez, Marco Faraone, Arado and many more.

There is a lot coming from the duo in 2011 including vinyl/digital releases on German labels Tapas Recordings and Lust Und Freu.de Musik and many more. Stay tuned...
